Together as Adoptive Parents, The Salvation Army and the Harleysville YMCA

have teamed up to offer free respite to adoptive, foster, and kinship families.

 

Starting December 19th, 2009

You can drop your children off at the Y for a day of fun (for them) and freedom (for you).

Respite will be held every THIRD Saturday of the month (Dec 19, Jan 16, Feb 20, etc)

The Y is located at 890 Maple Ave Harleysville (215.723.3569) 

from 9:30am until 3:30pm (6 hrs)

The limit is 20 children ages 7 to 16, first come, first serve.

FAQ's

  1. Will the staff be required to have child abuse clearances? Yes. Child abuse clearances as well as criminal background clearances are required for the staff
  2. Does the staff have experience working with adoptive and foster children? Yes. The four adults that TAP will use have worked with TAP before.
  3. How many lifeguards will be at the pool? Two lifeguards will be specifically assigned to our group.
  4. Will I be able to bring my birth children? Yes. As long as one of the children you bring are either adopted, in foster care or in a kinship placement.
  5. Can I drop my child off without registering first? No. ALL children must be registered before drop-off.
  6. How do I register my child and is there a limited on the number of children that can attend? The limit is 20 children ages 7 to 16, first come, first serve.
